Well, Nov.14 and I came home from work and put the laundry away so i would have a clean cutting table for Tuesday when I start my first block. I do get things done once in a while.

I'm back!
Well, it is mid November. I have finally got to a place where I can start my Civil War Bride Quilt. I actually bought my background fabric yesterday. I chose a lovely taupe that is almost a tone on tone but had faded roses all over it. Bought the whole 8m. bolt.
have I cleaned up my sewing room? Well, not much. But I am finshed all my Christmas shopping. I am working 3 or 4 days a week so next week I plan on devoting a whole day to working on my first block. I'll get back to you then with a picture.

I'm back!
Well, I really didn't fall off the edge of the earth. In fact, the day I recieved my pattern I got a job. After not working for over three years it took a bit out of me, well, more than a bit actually.
I have not lifted a needle since the 15th of September.
As for my sewing room, well - today I have great intentions of cleaning off the cutting table. I still do not have my background fabric for my quilt but on my next days off (next week) I intend to really go looking.
Oh, I also fixed the vacum cleaner so I guess I have made headway on the clean-up. okay a small piece.
By the way, the job wasn't my idea, it had something to do with the economy and mortgage payments.
Till next time,
Judi

About the poodles
These are my darlings, sitting in their red velvet chair which must stay in the sewing room. Note the fabric scraps on the floor. I used to save scraps this small but last winter gave my head a shake and now toss em. Last September I donated some fabric to my guild - 9 large garbage bagts full - and it didn't make a dent. I just kept shopping. My theory is "you can't go into a quilt store without buying something"
The First Day
It is Sept. 4th and I just looked at my sewing room. Now it is big but right now I am looking at laundry, extra furniture, NO ORGANIZATION and a lot of work to rectify.
